"Kids Look Like Cats" b/w "Silver and Gold"
Packaged with Issue 14 of STOP SMILING magazine

STOP SMILING and NUMERO are proud to present the third single in our year long partnership. Touted as "The magazine for high-minded low-lifes", this issue features The White Stripes with dual Jack and Meg covers. Also featured are The Streets, Fred Armisen, Leslie Stella and another super limited single by Chicago's finest, The Sea & Cake and Califone.

The Sea & Cake have been kicking around their blend of bossa nova, jazz, and electronic stylings for the better part of a decade. "Kids Look Like Cats" is an out take from 2003's 'One Bedroom' and continues down the path they've been refusing to walk on. Califone are quite possibly one of Chicago's best kept secrets, so secret in fact that nice guy Tim Rutili went so far as to go in and record this song especially for us. He takes Johnny Marks "Silver and Gold" and just owns it. Their 'Quicksand/Cradlesnakes' album is essential listening and should be tracked down with some immediacy.

This record is limited to 1000 copies on black vinyl.
